MARKERBOARDS AND TACKBOARDS <br />Section 10100 <br />15-1207 <br />B. Submit fully executed Guarantee with submittal package required by Article 1.04. <br />C. Guarantee shall cover operation of sliding units and warrant against warping of sliding panel <br />units. <br />1.06 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING <br />A. Deliver undamaged products to job in manufacturer's sealed containers and/or original <br />bundles with tags and labels intact. <br />B. Store materials in protected, dry conditions off of ground and in areas so as to not interfere <br />with the progress of the work. <br />C. Transport, store and handle in strict accord with the manufacturer's written recommendations. <br />D. Make delivery to job when notified by Contractor verifying that the job is ready to receive the <br />work of this Section and that arrangements have been made to properly store, handle and <br />protect such materials and work. <br />PART 2 -PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MATERIALS <br />A. Markerboards (MB) shall be Claridge LCS Deluxe prefab markerboards, factory laminated <br />and framed as detailed. Facing sheet shall be 24 ga. porcelain enamel steel, laminated to <br />3/8 in. particle board with .005 in. aluminum backing sheet bonded with special flexible <br />adhesive. Colors as selected by Architect from manufacturer's standard palette. <br />B. Frame and Trim: Metal Trim shall be by same manufacturer as MB. Extruded aluminum trim <br />6063 - T5 alloy with etched anodized satin finish. Joints shall have tight smooth fit. Dividers <br />shall be factory finished to match MB color and texture. Trim shall be the following. <br />1. Metal frame: Narrow trim "thin" profile, all exposed edges. <br />2. Tray: 2-5/8 in. deep aluminum tray, typical. Ends of tray shall be rounded and ground <br />smooth. <br />3. Map Rail: Full length aluminum map rail with cork insert furnished with one <br />combination hook and clip for each 24" length of map rail and two flag holders for each <br />chalkboard. Provide end stops. <br />4. Divider: Color to match MB. <br />5. Metal trim between MB and tackboard: Color to match DMB. <br />C. Tackboards: <br />1. As a standard of quality, tackboards shall be equal to NACO fine grain sheet bulletin <br />board cork with burlap back reinforcing; 1/4 inch thick with a flamespread rating of 25 <br />and smoke density of 450. <br />2. Vinyl covering: Provide vinyl wall covering material to match walls as selected by the <br />Architect. See Section 09950, Wall Covering, for acceptable manufacturers. <br />3. Completely bond cork to 1/4 inch plywood or hardboard backing, using adhesive as <br />recommended by cork manufacturer; apply with burlap side to backing. <br />4 <br />
