MARKERBOARDS AND TACKBOARDS <br />Section 10100 <br />15-1207 <br />2.02 FABRICATION <br />A. Marker Boards to 16 feet in length shall be in one piece without splices. <br />B. Tackboards shall be factory fabricated to sizes shown on Drawings. <br />C. All perimeter edges shall be trimmed with continuous moldings as specified for each location. <br />1. Moldings shall be installed with minimum splices. Butt splices neatly with hairline joint <br />and center on a divider molding. <br />2. Miter corners; form neat, hairline joint. <br />3. Secure vertical edge moldings to marker boards and tackboards from back side so that <br />screws are concealed when board is installed. Use flat head wood screws, with heads <br />countersunk into molding. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 INSPECTION <br />A. Prior to installation, carefully inspect and verify that the installed work of all other trades is <br />complete to the point where this installation may properly commence. <br />B. Verify that specified items may be installed in accord with the approved designs. <br />C. In the event of discrepancy, immediately notify Architect. Do not proceed in discrepant areas <br />until discrepancies have been fully resolved. <br />3.02 INSTALLATION <br />A. Install items where indicated on the Drawings, in full accord with all reviewed shop drawings <br />and the manufacturer's recommendations, anchoring all components firmly in place for long <br />life under hard use. <br />B. Secure boards to solid backing by attaching with oval head screws of sufficient length to <br />penetrate wood framing not less than 1-1/2 inch and as required to provide firm anchorage <br />into metal framing. <br />C. Keep perimeter lines straight, plumb and level. Provide all grounds, clips, backing materials, <br />adhesives, brackets, anchors, trim and accessories necessary for a complete installation. <br />D. Coordinate job -site assembled units with grounds, trim and accessories. Join all parts with <br />neat, precision fit. <br />E. Coordinate installation of sliding units with casework construction. Sliding units shall operate <br />smoothly and easily without binding, scraping or drag. <br />3.03 PROTECTION <br />A. Protect work and materials of this Section prior to and during installation, and protect the <br />installed work and materials of other trades. <br />3 <br />
