COMPOSITE TOILET PARTITIONS <br />Section 10170 <br />15-1207 <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 INSPECTION <br />A. Prior to installation, carefully inspect and verify that the installed work of other trades is <br />complete to the point where this installation may properly commence. <br />B. Verify that toilet partitions may be installed in complete accordance with the original design. <br />Verify solid blocking has been provided in walls and ceilings at all partition locations. Do not <br />install if blocking is missing. <br />C. In the event of discrepancy, immediately notify the Architect. Do not proceed in discrepant <br />areas until discrepancies have been fully resolved. <br />3.02 INSTALLATION <br />A. Install all toilet partitions and screens where indicated on the Drawings and reviewed Shop <br />Drawings, anchoring all components firmly in place into solid blocking for long life under hard <br />use and in compliance with manufacturer's recommendations. <br />B. General: Install partitions and screens rigid, straight, plumb and level. Maximum variation <br />from plumb is 1/8 inch. Provide clearances of not more than 3/8 inch between pilasters and <br />panels, and not more than 1/2 inch between panels and walls and not more than 3/16 inch <br />between vertical edge of doors and pilasters. Secure panels to walls with full length, <br />continuous wall brackets using stainless steel fasteners spaced maximum 12 inches O/C. <br />Attach panels and pilasters to continuous brackets with theft resistant sex bolts. Shoes <br />anchored to floor with 1-1/2 inch, #14 stainless steel screws and metal anchors. Pilaster <br />secured within shoe with theft resistant sex bolt. <br />C. Secure pilasters to supporting floor and ceiling with specified anchorage devices. Level, <br />plumb, and tighten. Adjust tops of doors parallel with floor and ceiling. <br />D. Hardware adjustment: Adjust and lubricate hardware for proper operation after installation. <br />1. Set hinges on in -swing doors to hold doors open approximately 30 degrees from closed <br />position when unlatched. <br />2. Set hinges on out -swing doors to return to fully closed position. <br />3.03 ADJUSTING AND CLEANING <br />A. Upon completion, and as a condition of acceptance, visually inspect the entire work of this <br />Section and adjust all components for proper operation and straight alignment. All surfaces <br />shall be free of imperfections, scratch marks, blemishes or color variations. <br />B. Upon completion, thoroughly wash surfaces, remove foreign material, polish surfaces. Leave <br />entire work in neat, orderly, clean, acceptable condition as approved. Replace damaged <br />parts, surfaces which are not free from imperfections. Field touch-up of scratches or <br />damaged finish will not be permitted. Replace damaged or scratched materials with new <br />materials. <br />
