METAL SHELVING <br />Section 10670 <br />15-1207 <br />1.06 REFERENCES AND STANDARDS <br />A. California Building Code for anchorage requirements. <br />1.07 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING <br />A. Deliver undamaged products to job in manufacturer's sealed containers and/or original <br />bundles with tags and labels intact. <br />B. Store materials in protected, dry conditions off of ground and in areas so as to not interfere <br />with the progress of the work. <br />C. Transport, store and handle in strict accordance with the manufacturer's written <br />recommendations. <br />D. Make delivery to job when notified by Contractor verifying that the job is ready to receive the <br />work of this Section and that arrangements have been made to properly store, handle and <br />protect such materials and work. <br />1.08 FIELD MEASUREMENTS <br />A. Make and be responsible for all field dimensions necessary for proper fitting and completion <br />of work. Report any discrepancies to Architect before proceeding. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MATERIALS <br />A. Metal Shelving: Metal shelving shall be Lyon 8000 Series Shelving as manufactured by <br />Lyon Workspace Products, or approved equal. As a standard of quality for metal storage <br />shelving units, products shall conform to the following: <br />1. All uprights shall be punched on 1-1/2" centers with pairs of parallel slots 11/16" long, <br />with one slot keyhole shaped for bolting cross braces and accessories to uprights. <br />a. Open uprights shall consist of two 16 -gauge, cold -rolled, formed steel "T", 1-1/2" <br />x 2-1/8" x 1/8" with one pair of 1" x 20 -gauge band cross braces. <br />b. Closed uprights shall consist of two 16 -gauge, hot -rolled, formed steel "T's" 1- <br />1/2" x 2-1/8" x 1/8" with 24 -gauge side sheet spot-welded on 6" centers to the <br />1/2" extension of the "T". Provide closed uprights at both sides of each section <br />with swinging doors. <br />2. Shelf clips shall be 12 -gauge hot -rolled steel, one piece construction. Four shelf clips <br />for each shelf. <br />3. Shelves: Depending on depth of shelving indicated, provide the following <br />a. Shelving up to 18 -inches deep: Type "B1" Traditional Industrial Shelves, 18 - <br />gauge, with label holder. All shelves shall be punched on 3" centers for divider <br />adjustment. <br />b. Shelving over 18 -inches deep: Extra Heavy Duty (X) Industrial Shelves, 18- <br />2 <br />
