METAL SHELVING <br />Section 10670 <br />15-1207 <br />Gauge with front and rear "Box W" formation. The front and rear "Box W" <br />formation shall not be less than 1-11/64" x 27/32" x 1-1/8" with 9/16" return <br />flange spot welded to the bottom portion of the shelf. The 27/32" portion of the <br />"Box W" shall have a 10 -degree bend in the center for additional rigidity. The <br />front and rear flanges on the shelf shall be punched to accept bin fronts, label <br />holders and other accessories. Ends are to be flanged not less than 1-11/64" <br />with a 90 -degree return flange of not less than 5/8". All corners shall be lapped <br />and welded. All shelves shall be punched on 3" centers for divider attachments. <br />Shelves shall also be punched at 4 -corners for bolting to the up -rights. The <br />front and rear flanges of the shelf are to be embossed with the words "18GA." <br />4. Lateral cross braces shall be 1" x 12 -gauge band formed and punched at each end to <br />bolt to upright T. One pair of lateral cross braces shall be provided for every three <br />shelving sections with shelf spacing at less than 30". Shelving sections with 30" or <br />greater shelf spacing shall be provided with two pair of lateral cross braces with every <br />three shelving sections. <br />5. Swinging doors shall be 20 -gauge steel with one full -height 24 -gauge pan <br />reinforcement per door. Each pair of double swinging doors shall have three-point <br />latching with one built-in lock. One pair of double swinging doors shall cover one full <br />section of shelving. <br />6. Each shelving unit shall be a minimum of 36"wide x 84" tall x 18"deep or as <br />dimensioned in plans at various locations. <br />7. Braced end units and braced or un -braced adder units shall be fabricated per <br />manufacturer's standard for conformance to applicable seismic requirements. <br />8. Free-standing units shall be braced overhead and connected to building structure by a <br />steel angle or cold rolled steel shape system designed by the manufacturer. <br />9. Colors shall be as selected by the Architect from full range of manufacturer's available <br />colors. <br />2.02 MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS <br />A. Provide all miscellaneous fasteners, brackets, supports, braces, connectors and accessory <br />items as indicated on the Drawings or as required by the manufacturer for a complete and <br />proper installation of the materials, products or systems specified in this Section. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 INSPECTION <br />A. Prior to installation of the work of this Section, carefully inspect and verify that the installed <br />work of all other trades is complete to the point where this installation may properly <br />commence, including blocking. <br />B. Verify that specified items may be installed in accordance with the approved design. <br />C. In the event of discrepancy, immediately notify Architect. Do not proceed in discrepant <br />areas until discrepancies have been fully resolved. <br />3.02 PROTECTION <br />A.
