ATHLETIC EQUIPMENT <br />Section 11480 <br />15-1207 <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.01 EQUIPMENT <br />A. General: The following athletic equipment systems and components were selected to <br />establish a level of quality. Other products shown to be equal in materials, workmanship and <br />durability and meeting the physical conditions of the job will be considered by the Architect. <br />All systems and components listed are by Porter Athletic Equipment Co. of Broadview, IL., <br />unless otherwise noted. <br />B. Basketball Backstops - Forward Fold Unit: Porter No. 917 or 917-W if applicable, "center <br />strut" Ceiling Suspended, Forward -Fold, Rear Braced. <br />1. All metal parts shall be powder coated. Architect may choose from 9 -standard color <br />options. <br />2. Operation: Electric with Porter No. 706, 1/2 H.P electric winch for attachment pivot <br />points up to 28 feet above the floor and Porter No. 707, % H.P electric winch for higher <br />than 28 -feet above the floor attachment of pivot points. <br />3. Backboard: Porter No. 208, Rectangular Glass Backboard with No. 326 Pro -Pad <br />Rectangular Backboard Padding Kit (bolt -on). <br />4. Goal: Porter #245-500 Ultra Flex goals with a release mechanism that can be adjusted <br />without removing the housing cover for high schools. For all other schools provide <br />Porter #252-500 Torq-Flex Goal or Porter #245-500. <br />C. Equipment Controller: Provide Porter No. 02555-000 POWER -TOUCH 2.5, Simultaneous <br />Operation Gym Control Center. <br />1. Wall Touch Pad system to have capacity to raise or lower backstops in any <br />programmed option and up to 4 backstops at the same time. Include one dual powered <br />relay panel allowing connection for up to 8 moveable items. Touch Pad shall <br />incorporate a four -digit programmable security code to prevent usage by unauthorized <br />personnel. Touch Pad security code to be easily re -programmed to prevent <br />unauthorized usage. Touch Pad to automatically revert to secured mode if no button is <br />pushed within a thirty second time period. Touch Pad shall be flush mounted in a <br />standard four inch square electrical box, with a 12 Volt control circuit running to the <br />relay panel. Touch Pad to have a tri -color LED for positive user feedback. <br />2. Control system must have capability for in -field re -programming by owner, should owner <br />want to change operation options or add equipment for operation. Pre-programmed <br />chip type programming for control centers are acceptable only if supplier provides new <br />programming chips at no cost to the owner for the life of the Touch Pad control use. <br />3. To assist in identifying the equipment number assignment for single or multiple <br />operation provide Porter No. 92500-000 Legend, 11"x17" in size. Legend to be <br />positioned above the touch pad for a visual reference of the equipment layout. <br />4. Wiring of equipment to the relay panel and control wire from relay panel to the Touch <br />Pad to be by Electrical Contractor. <br />5. Equipment Controller to operate the following equipment: <br />a. Motorized Basketball Backstops. <br />D. Indoor Volleyball Standard Sleeves: Provide No. 870 sleeves, 5" diameter cover for 3-1/2" <br />OD posts for installation in all fixed type floors. Provide No. 872 sleeves, 8" diameter cover <br />for 3-1/2" OD posts for installation in all floating wood floors. Provide cover options in brass <br />C <br />
