APPROXIMATELY FIVE GALLONS.
OES NUMBER: 20-1456.
PROPERTY INFORMATION
Property Name:
Site Location 720 S B ST
District 001 - VILLAPUDUA, MIGUEL
STOCKTON, CA 95205
Location Code 01 - STOCKTON
Cross Street SCOTTS
APN 15529021
Complaint Status:
Date Abated: O2 q Abated By: in O,'2
Activity Summary
Activity Date Recorded by
03/12/2020 Received briefing from Claudia Muro (EHS) & Elena Manzo (Lead Sr. REHS) at BAKER
4:30 pm for a complaint that clean-up will need to be verified after hours. Five
gallons of diesel was released from a train engine at 720 S. B Street. The
clean-up crew just arrived before Claudia and Elena had to leave so I will need to
call and get the details on the clean-up plan, how long it will take, if the release
has been stopped and if the ballast will be replaced once clean- up is complete.
Called Carlos Sanchez (American Integrated Services) at 707-210-5529 to get an
update on what the clean-up plan was. He said that they are wiping down the
engine right now and will excavate any affected ballast. He said the leak has been
stopped and they will replace the ballast with other ballast in the area once
clean-up is complete. He said it would probably take a few hours. He said he
would have the Site Supervisor, Juan Rubio, give me a call an hour before the
clean-up is complete.
03/12/2020 7:04 pm received a call from Juan Rubio of American Integrated Services that the
clean-up was almost completed and I can come out and verify. Left at 7:05 pm.
Arrived on site at 7:42 pm. Met with Juan Rubio. Clean-up is completed. The
train engine was wiped down where diesel spill on it. The platforms on both sides
of the train were cleaned up with absorbent. The ballast on the southern side of
the train was unaffected by the diesel. Only the absorbent was affected. The
ballast in front of the train was excavated where the diesel was released. The
ballast on the northern side of the train was also excavated where the diesel was
released. Most of the release remained on the train engine. One 55 gallon drum
of waste (absorbent, ppe, ballast, rags) was generated from the clean-up. Waste
was labeled as hazardous waste and will remain on site until disposal. Per Juan
Rubio, BNSF will probably do analytical before disposal. Left site at 7:59 pm.
Arrived home and completed photo log.
7:04-8:54pm
BAKER
03/12/2020 Generated a notice to abate while on site and emailed to Jeff Hankins, BNSF MURO
Hazmat Manager at jeffrey.hankins2@bnsf.com.
5105.rpt Page 1 of 3
