A truck accident <br />caused the release of diesel into the slough. <br />Called Melissa Nissim, program coordinator, and updated her on the release. It <br />was determined the spill would be handled by the C person at 8:00 PM. <br />08/04/2021 Site visit spill clean up assistance, visited the site with K. Saetern, V. Vang-Lee <br />(EHD). The impacted truck was removed from the waterway, and initial spill clean <br />up was implemented. Several agencies were present onsite: Coast Guard, CPH, <br />Caltrans, Fish and Wildlife. The responsible party representatives and the retained <br />clean up contractor were also onsite. Under the Coast Guard and Fish and Wildlife <br />oversight, Ponder delineated the extent ot slough impact with hard boom. Ponder <br />Environmental removed some impacted vegetation which was containerized into a <br />20-yard bin which was transported temporarily to the Caltrans yard (for staging <br />until tomorrow). Sargent Crutchfield indicated that he intends to halt all additional <br />clean up for today, he indicated that he feels that Ponder Environmental doesn't <br />have all the appropriate equipment to continue. The site was adequately secured <br />with booms and delineated with cones, and all clean up was demobilized until the <br />following day (starting at 9 am). See V.
