MINERAL RESOURCES.
Would the project:
a) Result in the loss of availability of a known mineral
resource that would be of value to the region and the
residents of the state?
b) Result in the loss of availability of a locally- important
mineral resource recovery site delineated on a local
general plan, specific plan or other land use plan?
Impact Discussion:
a, b) This project is comprised of three components. General Plan Map Amendment No. PA-2100226 proposes to
change the General Plan land use designation from General Agriculture (AIG) to Truck Terminal (11T). Zone
Reclassification No. PA-2100227 to proposes to change the Zoning Designation from General Agriculture, 40-acre
minimum (AG-40) to Truck Terminal (I-T). Use Permit No. PA-2100228 (UP) to establish the use of a Truck
Terminal. San Joaquin County applies a mineral resource zone(MRZ)designation to land that meets the significant
mineral deposits definition by the State Division of Mines and Geology. Although the project site is in an area
designated as MRZ-1, there is currently no mining activity in the area, and the surrounding area is developed with
agricultural and residential uses. Therefore, the proposed project will not result in the loss of availability of a known
mineral resource because the site does not contain minerals of significance or known mineral resources. Therefore,
the proposed project applications will have less than a significant impact on the availability of mineral resources or
mineral resource recovery sites within San Joaquin County.
18
