FOR REFERENCE ONLY BUSINESS CONFIDENTIAL <br /> Hazardous Waste Minimization ENV-702 <br /> Nonprofit Charitable Organizations <br /> The following criteria shall apply for selecting a recipient for donations of hazardous <br /> materials or LQs for reuse: <br /> • The recipient shall be a registered nonprofit charitable organization such as: <br /> — Habitatfor Humanity <br /> — Goodwill <br /> — Salvation Army <br /> — Vietnam Veterans of America <br /> — Churches <br /> — Law enforcement agencies(ammunition only,AK and HI only) <br /> — Fire departments(only fire extinguishers for training purposes,not recalled fire <br /> extinguishers) <br /> To find nonprofit charitable organizations in your area,visit GuideStar USA's website. <br /> Repacking, Labeling,and Marking Donations <br /> The following information will assistwith repacking,labeling, and marking donations: <br /> 1. Properly repackthe donation in a lined (HAZBAG)salvage drum in accordance with Safety <br /> department repacking hazardous materials requirements.See Hazardous Material <br /> Packaging,FXG, HAZ-01 1,for more information. <br /> 2. Place a Donated Hazardous Materials Label,OP-962,and the appropriate diamond label <br /> and orientation label on the salvage drum. <br /> 3. Place the Safety Data Sheet(SDS) (not applicable for LQ)and Hazardous Material <br /> Donation and Reuse Distribution Acknowledgment of Receipt,OP-978,on the salvage <br /> drum. <br /> 4. Place the salvage drum in the Hazardous Waste Storage Area (HWSA)and segregate on <br /> one of the specific pallets(Flammable,Corrosive,or All Other Hazardous Waste)until <br /> pickup from the recipient. <br /> 5. Document information on the Hazardous Waste Storage Area Accumulation Log,OP-975. <br /> Once salvage drum is picked up by the nonprofit charitable organization,write"donated" <br /> in the Manifest Document#column and the datethe salvage drum was picked up in the <br /> Dated Shipped column.See Hazardous Waste Management,ENV-700,for more <br /> information. <br /> Last Update: 22 January 2021 Page 5 of 8 <br />
