Table 2. Percolation Test Summary
Test No., Percolation Test Percolation Rate Test Duration Comments
Date Tested Depth (ft.) Satisfactory perc.
Shallow Test rate
P3 -S, Satisfactory perc.
10/12/2010 unknown unknown unknown rate noted on
Shallow Test permit'
1 Currently, a satisfactory percolation rate for a "shallow" test is greater than 1 but less than or equal to 60
minutes per inch. In 2010 and 2011, when the percolation tests for Parcels 1 and 3 were performed, any
rate less than 60 minutes per inch was considered satisfactory. San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department typically considers past passing test results to remain acceptable.
2 Per San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department, a rate between 1.0 and 5.0 min/in requires a
20 -foot separation between the bottom of dispersal system and ground water, or mitigation by system
design or enhancement.
3 Per San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department, a rate between 5.0 and 30.0 min/in requires an
8 -foot separation between the bottom of dispersal system and ground water, or mitigation by system design
or enhancement.
Discussion of Percolation Test Results
The soils on each proposed parcel of the Site have demonstrated satisfactory
percolation rates for the use of septic systems in accordance with the requirements of
the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department. The percolation tests are
considered representative of soils within a 100 -foot radius of each test location.
Because of the percolation rate between 5.0 and 30.0 min/in encountered in test hole
P2, the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department will require an 8 -foot
separation from the bottom of the dispersal system to ground water at that location,
unless mitigated by system design or enhancement. Because of the percolation rate
between 1.0 and 5.0 min/in encountered in test hole P1, the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department will require a 20 -foot separation from the bottom of
the dispersal system to ground water at that location, unless mitigated by system design
or enhancement.
Discussion of Septic System Sizing
Septic system construction utilizing leach lines or filter beds should follow the San
Joaquin County On -Site Wastewater Treatment Systems Standards (2017) where
applicable. No new construction is anticipated.
LOGE 2141 Page 8
