Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
Three septic systems are currently located on the Site, one for each house and one for
the horse barn (Plate 3).
Proposed Septic System
No construction is anticipated at this time. When the parcels are sold, however, it is
likely that the new owners will wish to construct houses.
On -Site Septic Permit History
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department septic permit files were
searched for the Site address. Three septic permits were identified:
• September 1975 permit for replacement residential septic system. A new 1,200 -
gallon septic tank, three 40 -foot leach lines, and three 33 -inch diameter by 25 -
foot deep seepage pit were installed (23702).
• October 1984 permit for new septic system at barn. A 1,200 -gallon septic tank,
two 40 -foot leach lines, and two 33 -inch diameter by 25 -foot deep seepage pits
were installed (23702).
• July 2008 permit for new septic system at manufactured home. A 1,250 -gallon
septic tank, two 40 -foot leach lines, and four 36 -inch diameter by 25 -foot deep
seepage pits were installed (23714).
These permits have been included in Appendix 4 of this report.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic systems that
exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Air photo imagery
from Google Earth was used. Each building cluster on the photo was assumed to have
one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that at least 45 septic systems per
square mile are located in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The Site is located within a mixed agricultural and rural residential area. The
surrounding properties are mainly vineyards and rural residences.
LOGE 2153 Page 2
