2-4
level of compliance the operator is able to maintain at the current permitted tonnage
allowed ffif-in the 1996 SWFP.
The maximum da i ly flow through capacity (i .e ., the rate by which materials can be processed
throu gh the RRF ) of the RRF was calculated to be 750+ tons per day (TPD). The storage
capacity for the RRF building varies depending on the type of materials accepted. Based on
the acceptance of recyclable materials~ only the storage capacity is 200 tons up to a maximum
500 of tons based on the acceptance of mun ioi pal solid was t e or heavier recyclables, The
storage capacity calculations assumed that the largest manageable pile of material that will fit
inside the RRF building, without impeding operations is 85 X 105 feet (which allows 15 feet of
clearance around the inside perimeter of the building) and -1&-12 feet high, Ro pes are used to
measure and limit the pile hei ght (not to exceed 15 feet in he ight). The calculations are
included in Appendix B. The assumptions used to calculate the volume handled at the site are
as follows:
• The RRF operates 12 hours a day, 6 days a week.
• Transfer trailer loading rate of between 3 to 4 per hour (20-ton load).
• Unloading rate of 20+ vehicles per hour.
• Based on RRF records, the average density of the wood is 330 Ib/cy.
• Based on published information, the average densities of cardboard, paper, and metal
are 85, 150, and 270 Ib/cy, respectively .
2.4 Service Area (14 CCR. Sect io n 18221.6 (m ))
The materials generation area, which is served by the RRF, includes various cities (i.e.,
Stockton , Lathro p, and Manteca ) with i n the San Joaquin County, as well as surrounding
communities within Sacramento and Stanislaus counties.
2.5
2.5.1
Waste Type and Volume (14 CCR.
