E <br />Consecutive inspections needed for the project will be scheduled with <br />EHD inspector on site after the first inspection. <br />Inspections will be coordinated with EHD for the following work: <br />1. Well Installation <br />2. Backfill of abandoned borings <br />SWD understands that drilling the well boreholes does not require <br />inspection by EHD. SWD will schedule inspections with EHD, between <br />9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m during working days. SWD will pay overtime for <br />inspections that require overtime hours by EHD staff. <br />, I 1 11 ,. 1 <br />4.1 RESPONSIBILITY FOR SAFETY <br />Gregg Drilling is required to ensure work area meets all safety <br />requirements. Gregg Drilling will be responsible for the safety of its <br />workers during this project. Gregg Drilling will provide a job Foreman for <br />the project that has completed the 40 -hour OSHA safety -training course. <br />Gregg Drilling will provide OSHA training certification of the job Foreman <br />working at the site upon request. <br />4.2 SITE CONDITIONS <br />The installation of the new GW monitoring wells does not include <br />excavation of refuse or contact with refuse. <br />Potential risk with landfill gas may be an issue but minimal as the new GW <br />wells are further away from refuse footprint. FHSL's perimeter LFG <br />migration monitoring wells have shown methane readings of less than one <br />percent by volume. The lower explosive limit of methane is five percent by <br />volume. Potential hazards of methane gas are: fire, explosion and <br />asphyxiation. <br />A. SWD's contractor will conduct a safety meeting with County staff and <br />Contractor's employees before the start of the project. During the first <br />safety meeting, SWD's Contractor will inform employees not to touch <br />refuse if encountered.
