B. Prior to drilling, Underground Service Alert (USA) will be notified. <br />Presence of overhead power lines will be checked and its clearances with <br />the drilling equipment. The well location will be adjusted if required drill rig <br />clearances are not met. <br />C. If any unknown material is encountered during drilling, then the work area <br />will be cordoned off and the County's Office of Emergency Services (OES) <br />will be notified. The affected work area will be flagged and excluded from <br />other work areas until the unknown materials are characterized by OES. <br />SWD's staff and drilling contractor will not attempt to remove or handle <br />suspicious material. SWD will contact Stericycle Environmental to remove <br />and dispose any hazardous materials. <br />D. SWD's contractor is required to follow OSHA safety rules and regulations <br />during this project. Hard hats, safety glasses and safety vests will be <br />required for personnel working near the construction area and operating <br />heavy equipment. <br />E. The Gem Gas Analyzer will be used to measure methane concentrations <br />in the work area. Workers will not perform work that involves sources of <br />combustion (such as welding equipment) or other work that generates <br />temperatures that could ignite methane unless the work area has been <br />verified to meet safety requirements. <br />F. Site personnel will be notified to call 9-1-1 during an emergency.
