No test borings have been made to date, however, the San <br /> Joaquin County Local Health District together with the <br /> Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board obtained <br /> a review of the site by the State geologist and a determination <br /> was made that the site was suitable for the solid waste <br /> disposal operation in accordance with the classification set <br /> forth above. <br /> 10. Because of the geology of the site, depth of fill, and <br /> slope of surface of filled area, no subsurface drains are <br /> required. Runoff from the site .is lateral and ponding is <br /> avoided. <br /> 11. No leachate generation is anticipated. <br /> 12. On the site there is a 30 hp pump or a well 440 feet <br /> deep with a- 12 inch ten gauge casing and an 11 inch starter <br /> shoe. This well provides the water supply for fire fighting <br /> purposes and also the domestic water supply to the toilet <br /> facilities and watchman and site personnel residences on <br /> the site. This well has not been regularly monitored by the <br /> operator. <br /> 13. No system is presently contemplated to provide for <br /> venting of the landfill site. <br /> 14. The use of the site after termination of the landfill <br /> operation is expected to be irrigated pasture or grazing <br /> land. This use is consistent with the general use in the <br /> area. No more than 70 acres will be used at any one time <br /> for landfill purposes. Areas already filled will be restored <br /> as the landfill progresses. <br /> 15. The present management organization is the Foothill <br /> Sanitary Landfill Inc. The Board of Directors is comprised <br /> of Dante J. Nomellini, a long time general contractor; Frank <br /> J. Garavano, an individual with extensive experience in <br /> Solid Waste Management and operation; and Dante John Nomellini, <br /> an attorney with a degree in civil engineering. The officers <br /> of the corporation are Dante J. Nomellini, Dante John Nomellini, <br /> and Gregory J. Basso. Mr. Basso has extensive experience in <br /> the solid waste management business. The site has been <br /> operated since 1965 by Foothill Sanitary Landfill Inc. <br /> The site is owned by the Lewis family and is leased to <br /> Foothill Sanitary Landfill Inc. The present site operation <br /> is supervised directly by Jim Vales who has worked in this <br /> capacity for over four (4) years. There are five (5) additional <br /> workers who work under Mr. Vales at the site. The primary <br /> task performed by these other individuals is operating the <br /> equipment in the day to day operation. <br /> -5- <br />
