5.3 Description of soil lithology as noted from test pit by appropriate professional using <br />industry standard protocol. The Soil in this area is classified as mostly Jacktone clay and <br />some Stockton clay and as stated in the Soil Survey of San Joaquin County, as provided by the <br />United States Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service. <br />5.4 Discussion of soil lithology as related to future onsite septic uses: Both the Jacktone and <br />Stockton clays have a permeability that is very slow. <br />6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION SECTION <br />6.1 Site map showing the location, with concise and accurate dimensions of the percolation <br />test holes on the parcel: See Appendix. <br />6.2 The minimum number of shallow and deep percolation tests were performed for each <br />parcel: One shallow percolation test hole was prepared on Parcel 1. Another hole was later <br />prepared for Parcel 2 per the attached percolation test results. <br />6.3 Description of the date, time and protocol used to prepare the test hole, including <br />depth and dimensions of hole, preparation of hole, and depth of water used to presoak <br />(minimum 12 inches): The shallow test hole was excavated to a depth of 42 inches and 8 inches <br />in diameter and backfilled with 2 inches of "pea gravel" in accordance with County Standards. <br />The shallow hole was prepared by Tristan Hartung of Dillon & Murphy on August 2, 2021 at 7:30 <br />a.m. On August 2, 2021 at 8:00 a.m., the 24-hour presoak period was started. The hole was filled <br />with 12 inches of water over the gravel at this time. A second test hole was prepared by Tristan <br />Hartung of Dillon & Murphy on the same day. The test hole was prepared in accordance with <br />County Standards. On August 2, 2021, at 8:05 a.m., the 24-hour presoak period was started. The <br />hole was filled with 12 inches of water over the gravel at this time. <br />6.4 Description of the date, time and condition of the test hole after the 24-hour soak period <br />(hole still intact, hole dry, preparation of hole, and depth of water used to presoak (minimum <br />12 inches): On August 3, 2021 at 8:00 a.m., the first shallow test hole was dry. Six inches of <br />water was added to the hole and the hole was deemed suitable to continue. The shallow test passed <br />the minimum County requirements. Also on August 3, 2021, at 8:05 a.m., the second shallow test <br />hole was dry. Six inches of water was added to the hole and the hole was deemed suitable to <br />continue. The shallow hole passed the minimum County Standards. <br />6.5 The test conformed to SJC Policy EH 02-02 (correct depth, diameter, 2" gravel, 6" water <br />refill, correct readings recorded). The percolation tests conformed to San Joaquin County Policy <br />EHD 02-02. <br />3 <br />
