Biotic Conditions
a. Plants -- The present walnuts (13 acres) are an
older matured orchard. Of the more than 60
varieties of existing plants now growing on the
site, only six are native to the area and are not
in an undestroyed state due to the continuous farming
operation that has taken place over the years.
b. Animals -- The animal life known to exist on the
site are ground squirrels, jack rabbits, mice and
gophers; all typical of cultivated areas in the
valley. There are no known rare or endangered
species present.
C. Birds -- The birds known to exist on the site are
Kildeer, English Sparrow, Sparrow Hawk, Meadow
Lark, California Quail, Pheasant, Flicker, Black
Phoebe, Mourning Dove Starlings and Blackbirds.
The Kildeer, English Sparrow, Meadow Lark, Flicker,
Starling and Blackbird appear to use the site as
one of their feeding grounds but do not nest there.
Of the birds present, only the Sparrow Hawk is
endangered and this is due primarily to contaminated
food from farming operations.
S. Visual Conditions
The single family detached homes will be landscaped
by individual purchasers. The property will be subject
to covenants, conditions and restrictions which, among
other features will place architectural and esthetic
requirements on all building activities. There are
no natural areas within or around the project that will
be affected by the project.
9. Sonic Conditions
Sound generated within the project is primarily resi-
dential (30-40 db). The commercial area is along major
streets (Cherokee and Waterloo Roads, 1-4 miles away)
and will generate higher sound levels (40-60 db).
The construction of the project buildings will involve
-7-
