In accordance with a previous request from the Environmental Health
Division, PVC pipes with caps were monitored for methane at four locations. The pipes are open
at the bottom and are approximately 2.5 feet deep.
The County used a Landtec GEM 500 Gas landfill gas instrument to perform the monitoring. The
instrument was calibrated by the manufacturer prior to monitoring. Results from the Fourth
Quarter 1999 Monitoring Event are shown on the attached map with readings for all probes and
structures shown adjacent to their locations.
If you have any questions, please call me at (209) 468-3066.
WJ:MK:
N:\WES\FMGAS\4tbq99.wpd
Attachment
c: Scott Walker; California Integrated Waste Management Board
LA 31209
