A public water system is inspected , sampled and monitored <br /> on a routine basis. This service assures the users that <br /> t water quality standards related to bacteria, chemical , <br /> pressure and volume are in compliance with the requirements <br /> of Title 22 CA Administrative Code. <br /> _. Documented water quality tests on wells within the <br /> proposed development aCea indiate marginal water �uatayr <br /> for Nitrates. Total Dissoly wSolids (TDS ) and Sdecific <br /> Conductance (S.C. ) . These small public water systems are <br /> being monitored and subject to the installation of water <br /> treatment equipment if future tests indic�j to that they exceed <br /> State Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCL) . California Regional water Quality Control Board personnel <br /> are working an a Trichloroethene ( TCE ) contamination problem <br /> in the groundwater on and around the Tracy Defence Depot. <br /> The Depot is located within a 0. 5 mile radius of the proposed <br /> development. Regional Water Quality Control Board personnel <br /> are also working on a Chloroform contamination problem <br /> approximately 0. 5 mile south of the proposed development. <br /> A public water system is the only entity required to be <br /> routinely monitored for the potential migration of these <br /> chemicals off site and into the surrounding water wells . <br /> Indvidual residential water wells would not be subject to <br /> this routine monitoring . <br />
