AMk <br /> PROPOSED SITE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br /> MODULE 1 LINER COMPLETION AND OTHER IMPROVEMENTS <br /> FOOTHILL SANITARY LANDFILL <br /> GENERAL <br /> This document identifies the components of the upcoming Site Improvement Project as proposed in <br /> the letter from San Joaquin County dated 16 January 2004. The purpose of this project is to address <br /> concerns by RWQCB staff of the potential for future groundwater contamination due to the presence <br /> of unlined Module "I" at Foothill Landfill. <br /> PROJECT DESIGN REPORT <br /> To facilitate review of the core design components of the Site Improvement Project, The County will <br /> submit a Project Design Report to RWQCB staff for review. This document will present the core <br /> design features of the project components for RWQCB review. <br /> Once the core design features for the project are established, the detailed design for construction can <br /> proceed and relevant permitting documents can be finalized. <br /> To facilitate completion of the project, drawings in this submittal maybe partially-completed full- <br /> sized, showing the core design features at the locations anticipated for the final design documents. <br /> Many details will not be included in the Project Design Report, as those details are based on the core <br /> design features. Such details will be developed in accordance with the approved core design <br /> approach approved by RWQCB staff, and included in the final design documents. <br /> FOOTHILL LANDFILL SITE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br /> Project Components <br /> The following components will be included in the site improvement project. <br /> 1. Extension of Module 1 liner onto Module"I" <br /> The Liner of Module 1 will be extended over the southern side of Module"I" (Figure 1). It is <br /> anticipated, at this time, that the design will be according to the "ADRs for side slope landfill base <br /> liners now installed in Module 1.
