Either a 8'x4'x 1/2" <br /> inch thick sheet of plywood with weights will be placed over the borehole <br /> or the drilling auger may be left in the borehole with its top covered. The <br /> drilling area will be cordoned off with safety cones and caution tape. <br /> B. ABANDONED BORINGS <br /> In the following circumstances a boring will be abandoned: <br /> 1. If drilling becomes difficult or an obstruction is encountered <br /> 2. Not enough refuse is found in the area <br /> 3. Any adverse conditions <br /> Abandoned borings will be backfilled as follows: <br /> • In the refuse: Backfilled with clean soil moistened and compacted in <br /> two-foot lifts. <br /> • In Soil: Backfilled with cement slurry <br /> 2.6 WELL CONNECTION <br /> The new LFG extraction well will be connected to the existing 3-inch <br /> diameter HDPE lateral pipe (Figure A). The existing lateral is installed <br /> on the surface. The lateral of the old well GX-2 will be caped to prevent <br /> LFG escape. <br /> A. EQUIPMENT <br /> Ford Construction will provide all necessary equipment for this project. <br /> It is anticipated that an excavator mounted drill rig will be used for <br /> drilling. <br /> 3.0 HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN <br /> 3.1 RESPONSIBILITY FOR SAFETY <br /> The Contractor (Ford Construction) will ensure that work procedures meet <br /> all applicable safety requirements.
