Work Plan for each LFG well installation project <br /> PART 2 - MATERIALS <br /> I. General <br /> A. Materials shall be new, free of defects, and designed for the purpose for which they <br /> are proposed. <br /> B. Aggregate base shall be Caltrans Class II <br /> C. Bentonite shall be montmorillonite <br /> D. Granular bentonite shall be#4 or#10 mesh in size <br /> E. Powdered bentonite shall be of a size such that 80% passes through a 200 sieve <br /> F. Bentonite grout shall be a mixture of a maximum of 7 gallons of water per 94 Ib bag of <br /> Portland cement, which conforms to ASTM C 150, Type I. Add approximately 5 <br /> percent by weight of bentonite powder. <br /> G. GCL shall be comprised of synthetic monofiber fabric encasing a minimum 0.75 Ib <br /> montmorillonite per square foot. GCL shall be Bentofix NWL or equivalent. GCL is <br /> available at Foothill Landfill. The Contractor shall get GCL from Foothill Landfill when <br /> needed. <br /> H. LFG well drain rock shall have the following size gradation, or approved equivalent: <br /> 90% passing 1/2" sieve <br /> 10% passing 1.5" sieve <br /> I.LFG well plug shall be soil obtained on site from a location identified by the Engineer. <br /> J. LFG well pipe shall be flush-thread schedule-80 PVC <br /> K. PVC fittings shall be Schedule 80 or as where indicated <br /> L. Flanges shall be provided with flange gaskets, bolts, nuts and washers <br /> M. Flange gaskets shall be full face EPDM or Viton <br /> N.
