She reported: <br />Store orders 6x5 gallon containers of disinfectant, she will double check the <br />number and let me know. Discussed HMBP applicability if over 55-gallons <br />Store doesn't wipe carts with anything else before or after applying Bioesque <br />Botanical Disinfectant Solution. Discussed with her its incompatibility with oxidizers <br />like bleach wipes, she will make sure no in compatibles are present during <br />application <br />All Walmart employees receive computer based hazardous waste training and <br />refreshers. <br />Brought up my concerns to Chanel with skin sensitivity characteristic of their <br />disinfectant if carts are still wet when they come in contact with human skin as well <br />as disinfectant application in the indoor area in the same area as store customers. <br />She said she will look into it. <br />Received a call from Chanel who reported the following: <br />Store provides Benzalkonium Chloride containing wipes in the store for <br />sanitizing purposes <br />Facility doesn't have more than 30 gallons of shopping cart disinfectant- they <br />will update their HMPB inventory if they store more than 55-gallons of said <br />sanitizer at any given time <br />09/01/2021 Generated a notice to abate, report was issued one day later to allow for additional MANZO <br />research and clarifications from facility concerning sanitizer storage and use. <br />Emailed inspection report to chrouss.s03352.us@wal-mart.com, cc to V. <br />Vang-Lee (EHD) <br />09/07/2021 Mailed Waste Discharge/Spill Response Notice to Abate dated 8/31/21 by regular MARTINEZ <br />mail to: <br />WALMART #3352, <br />ATTN: CHANEL ROUSSEL-SOK, <br />10355 TRINITY PKWY, <br />STOCKTON CA 95219. <br />09/07/2021 Reviewed notice to abate and discussed complaint with Elena Manzo for updates. VANG-LEE <br />I called the complainant to provide an update on our findings. I informed the <br />complainant that the EHD could not confirm misuse of the disinfectant. I informed <br />the complainant that the chemical is in ready-to-use form and does not require <br />wiping/rinsing after application nor the use of any gloves. I informed the <br />complainant that a notice was issued. The notice requested for a statement <br />explaining how the complaint is being addressed. Per the complainant, her chest <br />pain stopped approximately one day ago and she did not seek medical attention. <br />I contacted store manager Chanel Roussel-Sok at 209-570-3970. Per Chanel, <br />she did not receive the notice to abate last week. I verified the email with Chanel <br />and she stated the email we sent the notice to was incorrect. Emailed the notice <br />to abate to cnrouss.s03352.us@wal-mart.com. <br />I printed a copy of the notice to abate and gave it to clerical to be mailed to site <br />address with attention to Chanel Roussel-Sok. <br />I received a call from Jahan Khan (store manager) from 209-603-4236 inquiring <br />about the notice to abate. I discussed with Jahan regarding the complaint, our <br />observations, and the corrective action statement needed. Jahant stated that he <br />will need to discuss with his legal team before providing the EHD with a statement. <br />5105.rpt Page 2 of 3
