MURO
Ralph Roberts, (PG&E) call Jason to report an approximately 500-gallon release
of triethylene glycol at PG&E McDonald Island. Ralph's phone number is
209-323-9492.
I called Ralph Roberts. Ralph reported that he was not exactly sure how much of
the triethylene glycol was released from the tank. All of the triethylene glycol was
contained in the tank's secondary containment. There was no over flow. No water
ways impacted. The triethylene glycol will not be reused, and most likely will be
NON-RCRA Hazardous Waste. Ralph says the liquid came out possibly due to
someone having left the valve open. Clean up of the triethylene glycol may be
Wednesday, June 10 by PSC. However, Ralph is trying to find a contractor that
can do it sooner.
Generated Compliant.
Ralph called facility personnel to check the secondary containment for any
possible leak threats. He reported that the valve was tight and no evidence of
leaks.
06/08/2020 Discussed complaint with Elena Manzo, Lead Senior (EHD), and Jason Gaitan, MURO
(EHD).
Emailed complaint number to Elianna Florido, (EHD) since she will be going to the
facility Tuesday, morning.
06/08/2020 Received call from Ralph Roberts, PGE, (209) 323-9492 GAITAN
Notified me that approximately 500 gallons of triethylene glycol was released from
a processing tank due to human error.
