Potential risk with Landfill Gas may be an issue but minimal
as the borings are further away from refuse footprint. FSL's perimeter
LFG migration monitoring wells have shown methane readings of less
than one percent by volume. The lower explosive limit of methane is five
percent by volume. Potential hazards of methane gas are: fire, explosion
and asphyxiation.
A. SWD's contractor will conduct a safety meeting with County staff and
Contractor's employees before the start of the project.
