MONITORING AND REPORTING PROGRAM
WASTE MANAGEMENT OF NORTH AMERICA INCORPORATED
FOOTHILL SANITARY LANDFILL INCORPORATED
FOOTHILL SANITARY LANDFILL FACILITY
CLASS III LANDFILL
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
WATER QUALITY PROTECTION STANDARDS
Standards for Surface Waters
-3-
Four surface water samples shall be taken after four large storms during the
rainy season, with no more than one per month, from the locations S -I. and S-2
shown on Attachment "A" for one year and analyzed for each of the parameters and
constituents listed under "Surface Water Monitoring" above. Analyses shall
account for measurement errors in sampling and analysis. Data from these
analyses shall be reported to the Board by 1 June 1989 for use by the Board in
determining water quality protection standards for surface waters at the site.
If subsequent upstream surface water sampling indicates significant water
quality changes due to either seasonal fluctuations or other reasons unrelated
to waste management activities at the site, the Discharger may request
modification of these water quality protection standards.
Standards for Ground'Water
Quarterly samples shall be taken from "background" monitoring wells for one
year. If after a year the variability is too great to establish water quality
protection standards, additional samples will be.co.11ected. Once the monitoring
program is approved by the Board and implemented, the following will be analyzed
for:
Parameter/Constituent
-
Report in
Units of
Specific Conductance (field)
umhos/cm
pN field)
Su
pH units
ate
Chloride
mg/
mg/l
Nitrate
Alkalinity
mg/
Carbonate
l
mg/l
mg/l
Bicarbonate
Dissolved Iron
mg1
Manganese
mg/l
TOC .
mg/l
