Item No . 7
PC : 4-17-86
SU-86-5
Page 5
the proposed subdivision to the District was passed by the
Lockeford Community Services District Board of Directors on
September 12 , 1985 .
With respect to sewer service, the District states that ,
currently, its sewer plant is at capacity and must be expanded.
It notes that the monies derived from the proposed annexation
will allow expansion of the sewer plant and permit sewer ser-
vice not only to the proposed subdivision but to future develop-
ment within the District as well .
Concerning water service, the District notes that , of its two
wells, one needs to be replaced. The monies anticipated from
the proposed annexation, together with the monies on hand, will
enable the District to drill a new well .
Storm Drainage :
Terminal drainage is proposed to Bear Creek. He states that of
these , 25 would attend Lodi High School . This will necessitate
supplying an additional portable classroom to that school .
Approximately 15 would be 7th and 8th graders who would attend
Houston Middle School . Room exists at this school for these
students. The remaining 60 students would attend either
Clements Elementary (grades K & 1 ) or Lockeford Elementary
(grades 2 through 6) . These students could be accommodated
with portable classrooms .
With regard to portable classrooms suggested for Lockeford
Community Elementary and Clements Elementary, there may be
problems in locating them at the two schoo (e . g. , lack of cafe-
teria space, lack of restroom facilities, etc . ) . As a result ,
students from the subdivision may have to be bussed to other
elementary schools, or Lockeford Elementary and Clements
Elementary may have to be placed on a year-round schedule .
Given the problems associated with overcrowding, Mr . Larson
points out that Lodi Unified is a provider of services and will
