A mutual water company is not sub- <br /> ject to supervision or regulation as a public utility company. No <br /> public agency has any supervision or control over the management, <br /> rates, assessments, charges or conduct of business by a mutual water <br /> company. <br /> Usually, you must be a stockholder in the mutual water company in <br /> order to be entitled to get water. A share of stock will cost <br /> $100 . 00. <br /> A stockholder must share in the costs of operation of the water <br /> company. His share of stock may be assessed for any amount the <br /> management deems necessary to the continuation of the operation of <br /> the water company. Through his stock, the stockholder has a voice <br /> in the management. If a stockholder' s vote is one of the minority <br /> on the issues of management , individual dissatisfaction may not be <br /> easily resolved.
