A STORM DRAIN WAS IMPACTED.
PROPERTY INFORMATION
Property Name: CHEVRON
Site Location 1442 COLONY DR
District 005 - RICKMAN, ROBERT
RIPON, CA 95366
Location Code 05 - RIPON
Cross Street HOFF DRIVE
APN 26102028
Complaint Status:
Date Abated: vipA (2A-,z4

Abated By: V6ifv) —Let

Activity Summary
Activity Date Recorded by
12/12/2021 I received a page from 209-468-6005 at 3:43pm. I contacted operator Roshelle VANG-LEE
who reported a 37 gallon gasoline release at a Chevron located at 1442 Colony Rd
in Ripon, Ca. I contacted Debbie Rowe of Chevron at 760-707-3396. Per Debbie,
the release happened at 8am. A driver of a Dish Network Van was fueling his car
and did not notice there had been a release until he turned on the car and noticed
his gas tank meter was lower than when he started pumping. Per Debbie, 37
gallons had been pumped from the dispenser. The driver notified the store
cashier, who set-up absorbent booms around the storm drain. Debbie stated that
it had been raining at the time of the incident. Chevron contracted Clean Harbor
for clean-up. Clean Harbor subcontracted Patriot Environmental who responded
for clean-up. I contacted Lean Mendoza of Clean Harbors at 408-309-2722 and
Brandon of Patriot Environmental at 707-416-8109. Per Lean and Brandon, due to
the rain, there was no gasoline left on the ground or storm drain that required
cleaning. Patriot removed the absorbent booms, placed them into hazardous
waste drums, and left the waste on site.
I called lead Garrett Backus to discuss the spill. I called City of Ripon at
209-599-2108 and it went to voicemail. I contacted the non-emergency police
department line at 209-599-2102 and spoke to dispatcher Amanda who stated she
would have an officer call me back because she could not provide me with the
public works on-call person. I received a call from Officer Magana from
209-253-9273. Officer Magana stated that the police department and public works
department responded to the spill earlier today. Per Officer Magana, public works
did not pump out the storm drain because it was on Chevron's property and it
would be a liability issue. Officer Magana stated that public works would contact
me tomorrow during regular business hours.
I called Fish & Wildlife at 916-358-1312 to notify them of the spill. Operator #30,
Kelly, stated that they had received spill report 21-7080 and their agency is aware
of the spill. Kelly stated, she was unsure if fish and wildlife would be responding.
Generated a complaint record.
(3:42pm - 5:24pm)
5105.rpt Page 1 of 3
