Complaint Investigation Summary Report #. 5105
COMPLAINT ID: COMCNFAOT Site Location: 1442 COLONY RD
Activity Summary
Activity Date
12/13/2021 I contacted Mike Poole of the Ripon Public Works Engineering Department. Per
Mike, the storm drain leads to a pond north of the site location. I met with Mike at
the pond located at the Mistlin Sports Park. I inspected the area and did not
observe any sheen in the pond area. We then inspected a manhole located at the
corner of Santos Avenue and Hoff drive and did not observe any sheen or odor.
We went to the site location (Chevron) and looked inside the storm drain west of
the fueling dispensers and did not observe any sheen or odors.
I spoke to Chevron manager Karina Gordillo regarding the spill. Per Karina, the
spill took place at dispenser 7. Karina stated that she was not on site when the
release took place but was informed that 37 gallons of gasoline was released
while a Dish Network van was fueling. The release went into a facility storm drain.
Gerardo Acuna of Chevron emailed me a map of the facility's storm drains. Per
Gerardo, the impacted storm drain flows in a northeast direction to another facility
storm drain before it flows to the city storm drain on Colony Drive. I inspected both
storm drains and did not observe any sheen or odor.
I contacted Curtis Aycock of Dish Network. Per Curtis, he was informed that only
1-2 gallons of gasoline was released onto the ground and most of the fuel stayed
in the tank. Curtis stated he has not spoken directly to the driver of the van but will
do so tomorrow to address the discrepancy. I received a call from Dish Network's
environmental contact Kevin McGee 518-248-8669 advising me to contact him
going forward.
Emailed notice to abate to kevin.mcgee@dish.com cc'd
GerardoAcuna@chevron.com.
12/14/2021 Completed Prop 65. Completed and printed emergency response record and site
map. I received a call from Curtis Aycock informing me that he spoke to the driver
of the Dish Network Van involved in the incident and the driver confirmed there
was a 37 gallon gasoline release. I also received a call from Kevin Mcgee
regarding the notice to abate and discussed the notice with him.
I received a call from Mike Poole of Ripon Public Works informing me that they
anticipate to turn on the pumps for the pond today. I met with Mike at the pond at
Mistlin Sports Park. I did not observe any sheen or notice any odors.
Returned to the office and completed photo logs for 12/13/2021 and 12/14/2021. I
contacted Warden Amis of Fish & Wildlife at 916-825-3063 and was informed
Warden Ryan Rodriguez would contact me. I received a call from Ryan Rodriguez
from 408-210-3882 informing me that they have spoken to the facility manager but
they will not be responding to the spill. I informed Ryan Rodriguez that I did not
observe any sheen during my inspection but advised him to notify me if they notice
any sheen at the river.
Recorded by
VANG-LEE
VANG-LEE
5105.rpt
