Any potential leaks from <br /> piping and fuel filters must drain directly into UDCs . <br /> i . 24- hour hydrostatic test (or equivalent) on turbine sump . <br /> j . If the removed backfill material and soil is found to be contaminated it must be disposed <br /> of at an approved disposal location . Treatment of soil on site can only be performed <br /> under a hazardous waste treatment permit . <br /> k . See ' Sampling Protocol for Routine Tank Removals ' and `Verification Analysis ' on page <br /> 6 and 7 of the permit application for required analytical tests and number of samples to <br /> be taken and witnessed by EHD . <br /> I . The following information must be submitted within 30 days after the UST removal date : <br /> i . Analytical results : Only results that come directly from a third - party California <br /> certified laboratory with affixed chain of custody will be accepted by EHD <br /> ii . UST Disposition Tracking Record and/or hazardous waste manifest for tank and <br /> piping <br /> m . Since concrete will be broken near the existing tanks and sumps a secondary <br /> containment test must be performed on the affected components once concrete is <br /> poured in accordance with the manufacturer' s guidelines . <br /> 4 . Any individual performing the work of a service technician must meet the following <br /> qualifications : <br /> a . Possess or be employed by a person who possesses one of several permissible valid , <br /> current contractor' s licenses issued by the Contractors State License Board ( may be <br /> issued to the installation company) , or a Tank Tester' s license issued to the individual by <br /> the State Water Board <br /> b . Possess or work under the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically <br /> present at the work site who possesses a valid , current California UST Service Technician <br /> certificate issued by the International Code Council ( ICC) <br /> c . Possesses a valid , current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s ) of the <br /> component(s) being tested , repaired , or serviced <br /> 5 . Individuals installing underground storage tank system components must possess or work <br /> under the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically present at the work site <br /> who possesses all of the following : <br /> a . A valid , current contractor' s license issued by the Contractors State License Board <br /> b . A valid , current UST Installation/ Retrofitting certificate issued by the International Code <br /> Council ( ICC) <br /> c . A valid , current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s ) of the component (s ) being <br /> installed <br /> 6 . The tank owner or operator shall log into the California Environmental Reporting System <br /> ( CERS ) at http : //cers . calepa . ca . gov/ and ensure all UST information is current . <br /> 7 . The tank owner or operator shall log into CERS and complete and submit a UST Certification of <br /> Installation /Modification for the piping within 30 days . <br /> 8 . All components must be certified by an independent testing organization and labeled as <br /> required by the organization ( UL , ULC , ANSI , API , ASTM , etc . ) . See California Code of <br /> Regulations ( CCR) Title 23 , Chapter 16 , Table B for a complete list . <br /> 9 . Permit expires 180 days from the date of approval . If an extension to the expiration date is <br /> required , a written request must be submitted to this office prior to the expiration date . <br /> 2 of 3 <br />
