WESTERN PUMP
Petroleum & Lubrication Equipment Specialists
Exclusion
All employees are subject to the methods outlined above unless their prior agreements state
exclusion from the drug testing policy.
Drug Screening Protocols
Six drug groups will be screened for: marijuana , cocaine, the amphetamines , methamphetamines, the
opiates , and phencyclidine (PCP) . The drug screening cutoff concentrations used in all samples are
intended to be linked to the cutoffs established by the Department of Health and Human Services for
federally regulated screening . Therefore , these Program cutoffs (but not the drugs being screened)
may be modified from time to time without notification to Employees if the federal rules are amended .
The clinic will collect a urine sample and the results will be forwarded to the Medical Review Officer
(MRO) who will verify the results and initiate issuance (or invalidation) of the screen . MRO duties will
be conducted in accordance with federal standards . All confirmed drug positive or
substituted/adulterated donors must be given the opportunity to provide to the MRO any legitimate
medical reason(s) they wish to offer for the positive screen or unscreenable specimen . If the MRO' s
determination is that there is a legitimate, verifiable medical explanation for the positive or
composition of the specimen , the result will be treated as equivalent to a negative laboratory screen .
If not, it will be considered a verified positive result. Use of another person' s medication will not be an
acceptable reason and will be considered a verified positive.
Pre-hire Screening Protocols
All applicants must submit to a saliva or urine drug screen prior to hire. Positive results will make the
applicant ineligible for hire.
Post-Accident Alcohol Screening Protocols
3235 "F" Street, San Diego, CA 92102-3315 ` 619-239-9988 Fax 619-239-9925
www.westernpump . com
California Contractor's License #673853
California Certified Small Business #33547
