Have applicant fill out the Acknowledgement of Pre-Employment Drug Screening Policy form <br /> in the training room . Instruct the applicant to refrain from eating , drinking , smoking or chewing <br /> for 10 minutes prior to taking the test. <br /> 2. Give each applicant a drug test packet and instruct them to open it. <br /> 3 . Have each applicant label their devices on the back with a sharpie. They should fill outtheir <br /> name and social security number. <br /> 4. Instruct each applicant in the methods of saliva collection , using attachment "A." Observe each <br /> applicant and correct when necessary . <br /> 5. Once the applicants have a flow of saliva onto the test strip, instruct them to removethe <br /> collection device and cap. <br /> 6 . Each applicant must wait until their screen indicates their results before completing any other <br /> paperwork. In the event of positive results, separate the applicants by instructing them to wait <br /> in separate areas to protect the identity of the applicant who tested positive . <br /> 7. In the event of a positive screen , inform the applicant that he/she will be eligible for hire ifthe <br /> secondary screening of their saliva comes back negative from the laboratory. <br /> Employees who engage in prohibited alcohol conduct and/or have verified positive drug test result, <br /> must be immediately removed from their safety-sensitive functions.
