Gloves will be worn as precaution from the following <br /> exposures : <br /> • Chemicals - check the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for listed PPE required <br /> for safe handling <br /> • Cuts <br /> • Hot work <br /> No glove can protect against all hazards so select the appropriate glove for the job . <br /> Where there is risk of injury from glove entanglement in moving parts of machinery, <br /> employees shall not wear gloves and use other methods to protect their hands from <br /> injury exposure . <br /> Jewelry , such as rings has caused the loss of many fingers . Be aware that wrist <br /> watches , and other jewelry can be caught in moving machinery , or caught on a <br /> protruding hook or nail . Never wear metallic jewelry or other objects when working <br /> around electrically energized equipment. <br /> Foot Protection <br /> For work in areas where feet are in danger of: <br /> • Being struck by falling , or heavy rolling objects and crushed or penetrated , steel- <br /> toed shoes , or steel covers are recommended . <br /> • Working around boards with nails , or scrap metal , you need protection from <br /> punctures . <br /> Hearina Protection <br /> Hearing protection will be made available to all employees exposed to sources of noise 85 dB <br /> or greater, as measured by a sound level meter or identified by the contracting company.
