For consumer
commodities, copy and tape this label securely to the package:
Consumer Commodity
RME
IF the shipment is sent by air, rail, or ship;
OR if it is a hazardous waste;
OR if it weighs more than 66 pounds...
YOU must follow the procedure below:
• PREPARE A HAZARDOUS MATERIAL BILL OF LADING: Use the Wal-Mart/Sam's
Club Straight Bill of lading, and be sure a 24-hour emergency number
(Chemtrec (800) 424-9300) is listed on the bill of lading. For hazardous
waste, use your state's Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest. Use the
"Hazardous Material Shipping Guideline" in Tab 23 of your Risk Management
Resource Manual for reference, when preparing the bill of lading.
• PREPARE THE PROPER PACKAGING: The shipment must be securely packed in
sturdy packaging. Make sure the inner and outer packagings are consistent
with the shipping instructions and the requirements in Tab 23. (Use original
manufactures' packaging when possible.) Ask your carrier for assistance
if necessary.
• LABEL THE PACKAGE: Label the package with the appropriate hazard class label
and package orientation label. Refer to Tab 23, Appendix 3 for illustrations.
Call the Hazardous Materials Information office at (479) 277-6800 if you need
Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) or other product hazard information.
8801001 ©1998 Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.
