i
1 review and approval a detailed Endangerment Assessment Report.
2 The Endangerment Assessment Report shall summarize all relevant
endangerment assessment data including any recommendations c-.
3
the immediate reduction or elimination of the endangerment, if
4
5 necessary.
l5 . 2 . 2 Endangerment Assessment Objectives
6
The purpose of the Endangerment Assessment is to determine the
7
risk of and the potential toxic effect of exposure to hazardc--s
8
substances at the Site, and to assess the need for operating a
9
10 groundwater contaminant migration system to control or mitigate
11 any immediate hazards. The study should emphasize the
qualitative risk data applicable to the hazardous substances sn
12
the Site. A quantitative risk analysis will be contained in the
13
Feasibility Study. The following information shall be obtained
14
and included in the Endangerment Assessment:
15
A.- Identify and describe the hazardous substances at the
16
Site (including chemical, physical, and biological
17
properties) , and estimate the amount of substances
18
present;
19
B. Describe the potential toxic, acute, and chronic
20
effects of exposure to the specific hazardous
21
substances at a specific dose or dose range; _
22
C. Evaluate both the acute and chronic toxicological risk,
23
including mutagenicity, carcinogenicity,
24
teratogenicity, and other chronic effects of hazardous
25
substances at the Site. Evaluate combinations of these
26
risks when possible;
27
-10-
COURT PAPZR
rrwrs or CuuroewIA
t{TD. t 13 4A[v. 0-721
