i <br /> I enforcement actions including the issuance of Orders as <br /> 2 provided by law. <br /> I <br /> 3 6 . 7 EXTENSION REQUESTS <br /> 4 If, for any reason, Respondent is unable to perform any <br /> 5 activity or submit any document within the time required under <br /> 61 this Order, Respondent may request, in writing, an extension of <br /> 7 the time specified. The extension request shall include a <br /> 8 justification for the delay. All such requests shall be in <br /> 9 advance of the date on which the activity or document is due. <br /> 10 6 . 8 EXTENSION APPROVALS <br /> ill If the Department is convinced that good cause exists for an <br /> 12 extension as set forth in paragraph 6.7 it will grant the <br /> 13 request and specify in writing a new schedule. Respondent <br /> 14 shall comply with the new schedule. <br /> 15 6.9 ENDANGERMENT DURING IMPLEMENTATION <br /> 16 In the event that the Chief of the Northern California Section <br /> 17 of the Toxic Substances Control Division of the Department <br /> 18 determines that any activities or circumstances are creating an <br /> 19 imminent or substantial endangerment to the health and welfare <br /> 20 of people on the Site or in the surrounding area or to the <br /> 21 environment, the Section Chief may order Respondent to stop <br /> 22 further implementation of this -Order for such period of time as <br /> 23 needed to abate the endangerment.
