1 under and adjacent to the surface impoundment. <br /> 2 Sampling scheme to include a minimum of: <br /> 31 (a) One boring on the top of each of the four <br /> 4 berms with analysis performed on samples <br /> 5 taken at 2 foot intervals starting at the <br /> 6I surface. This sequence shall continue to a <br /> 7 depth of 10 feet below the land surface and <br /> 8 � then every 5 feet until groundwater is <br /> 9 encountered. <br /> 10 (b) On the interior slope of the berms, sampling <br /> 11 shall be performed along an axis 1 <br /> i <br /> 12 approximately at the midpoint of the length <br /> I <br /> 13 of the berm and perpendicular to the slope of <br /> 14 the berm. Sample points shall be distributed <br /> 15 along the slope of the berm every 5 feet with <br /> 16 the first point taken at the high water mark, <br /> 17 and the last point taken at the toe of the <br /> 18 slope. Samples shall be recovered from the <br /> 19 sediments (if any) , at the surface of the <br /> 20 soil, and at depths of 1, 2, 3, and 4 feet <br /> 21 into the berm.
