9. AST will withstand Trost-heave XX Yes No AST is located in secured covered Service Area
not subject to weather conditions
10. AST previously relocated? Yes XX No
11. AST Corrosion Protection Tank is covered in paint, with no evidence of external corrosion. Tank has no
Specific corrosion protection beyond the paint. No part of the AST touches the ground. The base of the AST
is steel, raised 4 inches within the berm. The berm is raised 1 1/z in, above concrete pad. There is no evidence
of internal corrosion taking place. Tank's construction material is carbon steel. Since this tank is not in
contact with the ground, there is no need for further corrosion protection such as cathodic corrosion
rotection.
12. AST Spill Prevention Equipment Tank has secondary containment with single wall steel horizontal cylinder
priniary tank set in a steel berm.Tank has unknown brand mechanical float level gauge to determine product
levels in primary vessel. Fillina operations conducted by connecting directly to oil caddies in service area, via
quick connect device, pumping product into AST. Filling is remote operation. Product is not normally T
handled outside of its intended containers. There is slight waste oil residue on the berm floor from s ilia e
which should be removed and the berm should be kept clear from debris and standina oil.
13. Overfill Protection: System has mechanical float unknown brand gauge for product levels determination.
Pump has manual ball valve shut off for emergency shut off of pumping operations. Fil in,i„,.
lE 's remote from
pneumatic pump-product not normally handled outside of intended containers. The manual ball valve was
inspected, and found to be in the open position. Daily inspections should be conducted to ascertain product
to this levels in the primary tank. A Daily Loa example for visual inspections is attached , assessment
,.
is assessment report.
The tank has a containment filling, basin on the top of the tank to capture oil from filters and allow the oil
filters to drain into the tank thru the 2 in. pipe connected bottom of the containment basin.
14a: Toxic Considerations: Used mineral-based crank brown-to-black, ly
case oil is the ,oily liquid removed from
the engine of a motor vehicle when the oil is changed. It is similar to unused oil except it contains additional
chemicals from its use as an engine lubricant. The chemicals in oil include hydrocarbons, which are distilled
from crude oil, and various additives that improve the oil's performance.Used oil also contains chemicals
formed when the oil is exposed to high temperatures and pressures inside an engine. It also contains some
metals from engine parts and small amounts ofgasoline, antifreeze and chemicals that come from gasoline
when it burns inside the engine.
14b: Additional Hazardous Considerations: Waste Oil can be Ignitable & create fires under certain conditions
are combustible or have a flash point less than 60 °C 140 ° in addition to a slightly corrosive hazard. which
can corrode & break down metals over long periods of exposure. It is not normally a reactive nor does it
enerate large amounts of vapors, which would be an additional fire hazard however, this tank is not fitted
with one 2 in. atmos heric vent on the primary tank and no atmospheric vent on the secondary containment
area. The tank has no emergency vent on the priniar-Y tank, and also no emergency vent on the secondary
containment. Emergency vents,if installed, are properly sized as annotated on a Nameplate on the exterior
of the tank,and/or also for the listing thru Underwriter's Laboratories..
15. AST secondary containment (material/design/listed) AST has secondary containment via steel berm to
completely capture any leaks from primary vessel. Secondary containment was tested,is intact and AST is
suitable for continued usa e. AST sits within a secured Service Area room enclosure . Leak detectionctiotion is
visually ascertained via visual inspection of secondary containment area. Berm has 710 gal. capacity for
containment.
16. Damage to AST or systems. No damage reported by Owner/Operator. Upon inspection,no evidence of
weld breaks unctures cracks or other structural damage to the tank. Leak detection is assured via
inspections of the secondary containment. Steel thickness measured to.140 in. average measured at 20 points
on AST outer shell with ultrasonic steel thickness sensor& .130 in. averagov on outer berm steel walls avers eT
measured at 20 points on berm walls with ultrasonic steel thickness sensor.
