The Annual Report presents the results of the
third quarter 2020 groundwater monitoring event conducted from 31 August to
1 September 2020. The Annual Report also presents Kinder Morgan's recommendatior
to discontinue groundwater sample analysis for chemical oxygen demand, biological
oxygen demand, nitrite, and total orthophosphate. Since December 2005, Kinder
Morgan has been analyzing groundwater samples for these constituents and other
general water quality parameters to assess the natural attenuation of petroleum
hydrocarbons in groundwater at the Site in accordance with the 17 February 2005
Groundwater Cleanup Plan for the SFPP, L.P. Stockton Terminal (Cleanup Plan)
prepared by Levine Fricke.
Annual Report Summary
On 31 August 2020, Arcadis gauged Site monitoring wells SP/M-1, SP/M-3 through
SP/M-9, SP/M-9B, SP/M-9C, and SP/M-10. Arcadis measured depth -to -groundwater in
Site wells at 3.95 to 6.47 feet below top of casing. Arcadis inferred an
east -southeasterly groundwater gradient in the shallow groundwater interval and an
east -northeasterly gradient in the intermediate groundwater interval, both of which are
generally consistent with historical trends.
From 31 August to 1 September 2020, Arcadis sampled the 11 Site monitoring wells
and analyzed samples for gasoline -range petroleum hydrocarbons (TPHg), diesel -range
petroleum hydrocarbons (TPHd), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes, methyl
tert-butyl ether (MTBE), tert-butyl alcohol (TBA), and the general water quality
KARL E.
