SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY <br />Intrnrim- inn <br />Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Professor Jacklyn Shaw <br />to conduct a Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study for her property located at <br />15766 North DeVries Road, Lodi, California (Plate 1). <br />The Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study are combined under this report <br />cover and presented as two sections of this report. The formatting of the report has <br />been designed to follow the recommendations of the San Joaquin County <br />Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil Suitability Study <br />Requirements Checklist and Nitrate Loading Study Requirements Checklist. <br />The Soil Suitability Study was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for <br />use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of <br />Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code. <br />Proposed Development <br />A minor subdivision is proposed to separate the Site into a two -acre homesite parcel <br />and a 38 -acre designated remainder (Plate 2). No changes to the property use are <br />anticipated. The San Joaquin County project application number is PA -2100291. <br />Site Description <br />The Site is defined as Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) 025-170-03, approximately 40 <br />acres in size. It is located at 15766 North DeVries Road, Lodi, California. <br />The Site is vineyard with a house and a Quonset but shop. A domestic well serves the <br />house, and an irrigation well provides water for the vineyard (Plate 3). <br />The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic <br />map, is approximately 25 feet above mean sea level. The Site is relatively flat (Plate 4). <br />According to the San Joaquin County District Viewer (sjmap.org), the Site is zoned AG - <br />40, General Agriculture with a minimum parcel size of 40 acres. This zoning <br />designation "is established to preserve agricultural lands for the continuation of <br />commercial agriculture enterprises." <br />LOGE 2124 Page 1 <br />
