The use of turf for solely decorative <br /> purposes is strongly discouraged. <br /> Native Plant Palette <br /> • Stormwater Best Management Practices, <br /> such as rain gardens, bioswales and rainwater <br /> harvesting, should be incorporated into the <br /> landscape to maximize on-site infiltration of <br /> stormwater, to the extent possible. <br /> c. Sustainability <br /> • Sustainable landscape design employing <br /> the most current technologies are strongly <br /> encouraged. <br /> The use of renewable energy in the landscape <br /> u LL such as photovoltaics and wind turbines are <br /> encouraged. <br /> • High-efficiency, weather-based irrigation <br /> systems should be used. <br /> • Recycled water shall be used for landscape <br /> irrigation to reuse the treated wastewater. <br /> Bioswale with Native Plants <br /> • Appropriate placement of landscape plant <br /> materials should provide summer shade on <br /> buildings, parking spaces, drives and paths. <br /> CHAPTER 4 <br /> 4-14 <br />
