FLORIDO <br />Called HazMat 1 (913-782-5151) and spoke to Joe Harding who stated the <br />following: two 1-gallon containers of muriatic acid spilled in a Reddaway trailer <br />during transit impacting the inside of the trailer; Patriot Environmental conducted <br />the clean-up; and referred me to Ash Moghaddam of Patriot. Joe did not have a <br />trailer number. <br />Called and spoke to Ash (510-575-2816), who referred me to Daniel Hiraga, <br />Patriot contact on site performing clean up. <br />Called and spoke to Daniel (510-829-2017) who stated the following: Patriot <br />finished the clean up and is no longer on site; only one 1-gallon container of <br />muriatic acid spilled; Patriot only cleaned one pallet found in the warehouse near <br />dock 162 that contained the spilled container and contaminated boxes and <br />containers of muratic acid; Patriot was not aware of a trailer needing cleaning; <br />Daniel was in contact with the facility operations manager, Enrique Aguilar, on site; <br />Patriot generated 1x30 gal. hazardous waste drum of contaminated 1-gal. <br />containers of muratic acid and 1x55 gal hazardous waste drum of contaminated <br />cardboard boxes; drums were left in facility's haz waste area until it can be <br />determined if Patriot will be going back to pick up and dispose of the drums or if <br />the facility will dispose of the drums. Daniel sent me photos of haz waste drums <br />generated by Patriot and of contaminated boxes on pallet. <br />Received Cal DES spill report 21-7242 reporting two 1-gallon containers of <br />muriatic acid damaged during transit and spilled onto boxes below the original box <br />in the trailer; release is stopped and contained with no waterway impacted. Jaime <br />Haines of USF Reddaway noted as suspected responsible party on spill report. <br />Called Jaime Haines (913-344-5205) and left him a voice message. <br />Called and left a voice message for Enrique Aguilar, Reddaway Operations <br />Manager (209-832-7172, 209-729-3122). Called Ruben Byerley, Reddaway CERS <br />environmental contact (913-344-3000), but was unable to leave a voice message. <br />Generated complaint number. <br />Updated Melissa Nissim and weekend on-call inspector, Elena Manzo, Ld Sr <br />REHS.
