FLORIDO <br />05/13/2021 Received a call from City of Ripon Public Works Director, James Pease, who FLORIDO <br />stated a painting contractor spilled 2 gallons of acrylic paint that entered a storm <br />drain, and a Public Works crew is in the process of cleaning the storm drain catch <br />basin and line and placing the rinseat in a vac truck. James stated the vac truck <br />already had 200 gallons of dirty water from previous job sites, and asked if the vac <br />truck liquid, now containing rinsate from the paint spill clean-up, could be <br />managed as non-hazardous waste. Notified James that a hazardous waste <br />determination would need to be made on the waste in the vac truck, and <br />requested he email me a safety data sheet for the paint that spilled. James <br />agreed. <br />05/14/2021 Called James Pease and sent him an email regarding location of the spill. <br />Received a call from James. He told me the location of the spill. James said that <br />the spill was cleaned by Atlas Environmental. <br />Went out to the site and verified the storm drain was cleaned up. No other <br />rennediation was required. <br />During the inspection I was accompanied by Carol Presto and Fred Ernest, REHS <br />trainees. <br />ALANIZ <br />James' phone number is 209-599-2108 and email is <jpease@cityofripon.org>. <br />Note: While in the area I met with the person that reported the spill. He was on <br />the opposite side of a busy road so I did not get any contact information. The <br />person said he saw someone dumping paint down the drain so he called the city. <br />05/17/2021 Generated complaint number and inspection report.
