Proposal to Conduct Geotechnical Engineering Investigation
Arch Road Gas Station
4850 S. State 99 E.
Strockton CA 95215 T
Prop. No: 25-22-011 1/18/2022
• Excavate borings near the proposed improvement locations to explore and sample the
subsurface conditions to the depths which could influence the proposed structures and
improvements.
• Evaluate, by laboratory testing, the pertinent engineering properties of the various geological
strata encountered to determine if the project is considered feasible from a geotechnical
standpoint.
• Prepare a geotechnical engineering report which contains the results of the subsurface
investigation, laboratory testing program and engineering evaluation of the geotechnical and
geological elements of the project site and proposed construction. The report shall present
appropriate geotechnical engineering design parameters for the proposed structures and
improvements, seismic loading criteria and seismic settlement for the proposed structure.
The Geotechnical Engineering Investigation report will present geotechnical and seismic loading
parameters recommendations for the design and construction of the proposed improvements. The report
will include the following:
■ A description of the proposed project;
■ Computer generated boring logs with soil stratification based on visual soil classification;
■ A brief review of our test procedures and the results of testing conducted;
■ A summary of the area and site geologic conditions;
■ A description of the surface and subsurface site conditions encountered during the field investigation;
■ Site preparation recommendations including stripping and special undercutting and/or stabilization;
■ Suitability of on-site soils for use as structural fill;
■ Depth to groundwater, if encountered;
■ Anticipated excavation conditions, including difficult excavation;
■ Backfill placement recommendations;
■ California Building Code (CBC) Seismic Conditions Site Classification;
■ Site Specific Seismic Ground Motion Evaluations if required;
■ Evaluation potential liquefaction settlements;
■ Allowable Lateral earth pressures for structures and retaining walls;
■ Recommended foundation types including allowable bearing pressure and depths;
Estimate of Charges
It is estimated that a geotechnical investigation at the subject site will incur an overall expenditure of
(Not to Exceed) $5,122.00 (50% Down payment required prior to Field Investigation/Drilling)
The estimated cost and time involved are based on the anticipated soil conditions, knowledge of the
proposed development, and the scope of services. An approximate breakdown of costs is presented
below:
Field Investigation/Drilling ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- $2,832.00
The field investigation will consist of processing for and obtaining a boring permit (if required); performing
a site reconnaissance; excavation and logging of boring holes at locations designated on the attached
plan; and obtaining representative soil samples for laboratory analysis. An experienced geologist or soils
engineer will oversee all field investigation activities. The borings will be backfilled with an annular sealing
material as required by the regulatory agency. It is CTE's belief the proposed number of borings and
boring depths will meet the requirements of the California building code for the design and construction of
the proposed project. The site will be marked for Utility Service Announcement (USA), but private utility
location is the responsibility of the property owner. Private utility locating services can be provided upon
request.
Page 2 of 5
