PCAiNNING DEPA 2I MFNT
January 11, 1978
Mr. Richard Schaffer
San Joaquin County Planning Department
1810 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205
DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT FOR QUASHNICK AND WILLIAMS
(EIR 78-4)
We have reviewed the subject environmental impact report and
have no comments regarding the land use impact of the pxeject,
However, we feel the RR-65 zone is much too permissive as far
as requirements for storm and sanifkry sewers . Terminal
drainage into Mosher Slough would prevent potential flooding
problems inherent with individual drainage ponds . As a
minimum, an internal drainage system and community pond should
be required.
With regards to seVage''disposal by septic tank and leach field,
we are somewhat concerned about the cumulative effect of the
percolation of partially decomposed effluent into the subsoil.
With a potential population of 4, 752 in the Morada area, a -
proximately 356,400 gallons/day {75 gal/capita/day x 4, 752}.•
of effluent will be percolated into the subsoil . Perhaps,
in considering future development in the Morada area, the
effect of sewage disposal by septic tank and leach field
should be thoroughly investigated to ensure that the water
quality in the area is not affected.
Thank you for the opportunity to review this environmental,
impact report.
S.
