Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
Two septic systems are currently located on the Site, one for the house and one for the
game room (Plate 2).
Proposed Septic System
A new septic system is proposed for the new ADU.
On -Site Septic Permit History
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department septic permit files were
searched for the Site address. Four permits were identified:
• July 1987 permit for addition to existing septic system at game room. A 90 -foot
leach line was added to the system.
• March 1993 permit for addition to existing septic system at main house. A 40 -
foot leach line and a 2- by 10- by 12 -foot deep sump were added to the system.
• September 2002 permit for addition to existing septic system at game room. Two
50 -foot leach lines were added to the system.
• February 2020 permit for replacement system at main house. A 40- by 40 -foot
filter bed system was installed.
These permits have been included in Appendix 4.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic systems that
exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Air photo imagery
from Google Earth was used. Each building cluster on the photo was assumed to have
one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that at least 190 septic systems
per square mile are located in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The Site is located within a residential neighborhood. Agricultural land is located to the
east and south of the neighborhood.
LOGE 2204 Page 2
