Contractor emergency coordinators shall be on site to provide for effective response in <br />the event of a release, fire, explosion or spill. A copy of the emergency response plan, and the <br />contingency plan shall be maintained at each collection site for reference during any emergency <br />situations. <br />7. Emergency response equipment with personnel trained in the use of that equipment shall <br />be on the site at all times during the collection event. The name and phone number of the <br />emergency coordinator, alternate emergency coordinator, and the location and telephone number <br />of at least one local hospital with route map shall be clearly posted at the event for immediate <br />reference. <br />8. Ready -to -use emergency eye washes, showers, and fire extinguishers shall be placed in <br />locations that are readily available to collection personnel. <br />9. All traffic within the collection site shall be routed in a one-way direction to avoid <br />backing or turning around. <br />10. Receiving, handling, and waste storage areas (excluding vehicle traffic lane(s)) shall <br />have a continuous asphalt or concrete base for the receiving, handling and storage of HHW. <br />The continuous base shall be designed in accordance with Title 22, Cal. Code Regs., section <br />66264.175 (b)(1) or shall be covered with contiguous plastic sheeting of at least 6 mil thickness. <br />Any torn or punctured plastic shall be immediately repaired or replaced. <br />11. Waste handling areas designated for sorting, bulking and packaging shall have a canopy <br />or other roof structure, when necessary, to prevent exposure to excessive heat or precipitation. <br />12. "Hazardous Waste" warning signs and "No Smoking" signs in English and any other <br />language predominant in the surrounding communities shall be placed around the collection <br />facility perimeter in accordance with Title 22, Cal. Code Regs., Division 4.5, Chapter 14. <br />13. The collection sponsor shall make every attempt to assure that hazardous waste be limited <br />to 15 gallons or 125 pounds per participant per trip to the collection facility. Participants in <br />violation of these limits shall be issued verbal and/or written warnings by the collection <br />personnel. <br />
