Personnel who will be handling HHW/household products/materials shall use <br />appropriate personal protective and safety equipment during specified by CCR, Title 8. <br />6. Offsite hazardous materials shall be transported to the MEP under a bill of lading <br />and per the CVC and the CHP, Title 13, CCR. <br />7. A copy of this variance shall be carried in all vehicles used to transport MEP <br />hazardous materials. <br />8. The MEP shall be operated independently from any authorized recycle -only <br />(battery, oil, paint - BOP) facility operating at the same location. (Recycle -only or BOP <br />facilities are prohibited per H&SC, Section 25218.8(b)(2) from receiving any other <br />hazardous wastes or materials.) <br />9. An accident report regarding any hazardous materials transported pursuant to <br />this variance shall be submitted to this office within 10 days of the incident to the <br />address specified below under "correspondence". <br />10. The applicant shall comply with all local fire department requirements regarding <br />the storage of hazardous materials. <br />11. The applicant shall maintain adequate security of the MEP site. <br />12. All materials that have not been reissued within six months of receipt shall be <br />removed from the MEP and separately managed as hazardous waste in accordance <br />with generator standards. Disposal may include consolidation with authorized HHW <br />collection events/facilities. <br />13. A record of materials received, reissued, and disposed of shall be maintained for <br />a period of three years at the MEP site. <br />14. The applicant shall immediately notify DTSC of any noncompliance with the <br />terms of this variance. <br />
